After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Windsor, Surry County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Franklin Broncos a 2-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

Surry County's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-13-2 record this season.
