Village skates past Incarnate Word Academy with ease

In what's become a running theme this season, the Village Vikings gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 63-30 win over Incarnate Word Academy. Given Village's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Falcons are ranked 1091st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Village to victory were Mila Rossini and Shaniya Williams. Rossini scored 21 points along with seven rebounds, while Williams scored 25 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Village's points. Cyra Narahari was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Village and bumps their season record up to 22-10. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-18.

Village will head out on the road to face off against the Apaches at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Antonian Prep is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. Concordia Lutheran's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so the Falcons' offense will have their work cut out for them.
