Huntington Beach came tearing into Monday's contest with 18 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 40-12 win over the Fountain Valley Barons. Considering the Oilers have won 14 games by more than 19 points this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Huntington Beach to victory were Daisy Quatman and Roxie Shaia. Quatman gained 149 total yards and three touchdowns, while Shaia threw for 290 yards and five touchdowns. What's more, Quatman racked up 43 rushing yards, the most she's had since back in September.

Another reason for the win was Huntington Beach's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Fountain Valley's QB won't forget Meleah Benedict anytime soon given she sacked her four times. Mia Aish got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Huntington Beach's victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Fountain Valley, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Huntington Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fountain Valley, they will challenge Fairmont Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
