Volleyball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Caledonia-Mumford last Thursday, Avon came back down to earth. The Braves lost 3-0 to the Le Roy Oatkan Knights on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered against the Oatkan Knights since October 29, 2022.

Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Le Roy, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Avon and Le Roy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Braves will take on Wellsville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (67 vs. 264). Meanwhile, Le Roy (ranked 13th) will meet Midlakes (ranked 108th) at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
