            Basketball Recap: Cotopaxi Pirates vs. Primero Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Cotopaxi hadn't done well against Primero recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Thursday. The Cotopaxi Pirates enjoyed a cozy  53-36 victory over the Primero Bulldogs. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered  a  39-34  defeat the last time these two teams met.

 Cotopaxi got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Terrance Evans out in front who  dropped  a double-double on 17  points and ten  boards. Evans is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's  played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was  Joel Tezak, who  went 6 of 13 en route to 16  points and five  rebounds.
The  victory made it two in a row for Cotopaxi and  bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Primero, their loss  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 3-1.
 Cotopaxi will hit the road for the first time this season to  take on  Swallows Charter Academy  at 5:30  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Primero, they will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kim/Branson at 5:00  p.m.  on January 10, 2025.
