Football Recap: Wall Skates Past Sweetwater with Ease

Wall strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past the Sweetwater Mustangs to the tune of 35-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Mustangs are ranked 616th).

Landon York continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 271 yards and three TDs. York is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Wall's leading receiver Reid Robertson was York's top target yet again, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score.

Wall didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Sweetwater to a completion percentage of just 47.8%. The team can thank Kellan J Oliver for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wall wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 58.6%.

Wall didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jager Thompson and Levi B King. Wall received some extra help from Gavin E Sisson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Wall's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Sweetwater, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Wall will head out on the road to face off against Idalou at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Sweetwater, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Comanche at 7:00 p.m. on October 17.
