Chipley is a perfect 10-0 against Vernon since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will host the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Chipley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.9 runs per game this season.

Chipley is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Bozeman just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 9-8.

Kenzlee Nelson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Chadwell, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

Meanwhile, Vernon didn't have quite enough to beat Paxton on Thursday and fell 14-13. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Cheyenne Wilson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Owens, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Chipley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Vernon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chipley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Vernon, though, as they've been averaging 10.2 hits. Given Chipley's sizable advantage in that area, the Yellowjackets will need to find a way to close that gap.

Chipley took their win against Vernon in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
