The Covington Academy Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Peachtree Academy Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Covington Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Covington Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Creekside Christian Academy, who was ranked fifth at the time (Covington Academy was ranked third). Covington Academy walked away with a 6-1 victory over Creekside Christian Academy on Monday.

Bryleigh Bragg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Ledoux, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Makenzie Cowan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Peachtree Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Skipstone Academy on Thursday and fell 10-9.

Covington Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. Peachtree Academy now has a losing record of 4-5.

Covington Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Peachtree Academy in their previous matchup last Monday, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covington Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
