Basketball Recap: Newtown Has No Trouble Against Long Island City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Forest Hills, Newtown was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Long Island City Bulldogs with a sharp 39-13 victory. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Pioneers this season.

Newtown now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Long Island City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

When Newtown and Long Island City next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Newtown will try to stop Hillcrest's three-game winning streak when the meet on January 4, 2025. Meanwhile, Long Island City will challenge Townsend Harris and their four-game winning streak at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
