Basketball Recap: Riverview Sharks vs. Steinbrenner Warriors
The Riverview Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a 69-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Steinbrenner. Riverview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Riverview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryson Kearney, who scored 18 points. Alexander Mercer-Eriksen was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
It was another big night for Justice Momrik, who scored 25 points for Steinbrenner. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Momrik has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Carson Krueger, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks.
Riverview's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Steinbrenner, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-21.
Riverview will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Strawberry Crest is ranked 700th, while the Sharks are ranked 678th). Steinbrenner's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
