Recap: Laurens Raiders vs. Wade Hampton Generals
The Laurens Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 57-34 defeat to Wade Hampton might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laurens in their matchups with Wade Hampton: they've now lost five in a row.
Laurens' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nyri Allen, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Young, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Laurens' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-10. As for Wade Hampton, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Laurens will head out on the road to challenge Greer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wade Hampton, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Riverside is ranked 14th, while Wade Hampton is ranked 25th).
