Baseball Game Preview: Scott Skyhawks vs. Logan Wildcats

The Scott Skyhawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Logan Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Scott 3.5, Logan 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Scott is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Charleston Catholic, who was ranked 11th at the time (Scott was ranked 23rd). The Skyhawks wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Irish recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Scott got a good showing from Brodie Null, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Null has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Logan waltzed into their game on Monday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They put the hurt on the Dots with a sharp 18-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Scott's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5-2. As for Logan, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Scott came up short against Logan when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 8-3. Can the Skyhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
