The East Moline United Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Geneseo Maple Leafs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

East Moline United's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Galesburg with a sharp 20-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Samantha Verstraete was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Riley Myers looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.

Back at the plate, Miah Berhenke was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Kahly Thammavong also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

East Moline United kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galesburg only managed three hits.

Geneseo came out on top against Newark on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Maple Leafs blew past the Norsemen 7-1. Considering the Maple Leafs have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kendyl Wassenhove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Madisyn Buysse, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Lillian Brown, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Geneseo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for East Moline United, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
