Soccer Game Preview: Lake Howell vs. Edgewater

The Lake Howell Silverhawks will square off against the Edgewater Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Lake Howell's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boone on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Silverhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while the Braves are ranked 188th).

Meanwhile, Edgewater also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell 2-0 to Olympia on Wednesday. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in November of 2024.

Edgewater now has a losing record at 7-8-2. As for Lake Howell, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Lake Howell suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Edgewater in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lake Howell was down 3-0.
