Softball Recap: Cary Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Cary was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 15-2 to the Apex Cougars. The Imps have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Cary saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Hackett, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Hackett brought in this season.

Cary's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Apex, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Cary will square off against Green Level at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Green Level has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something Cary will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Apex, they will take on Panther Creek at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Panther Creek knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Apex likes a good challenge.
