Softball Recap: River View Comes Up Short

River View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Minerva Lions.

Kayla McPeak was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylee Lechner, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

River View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Minerva, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.

Looking ahead, River View is taking a road trip to challenge Coshocton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Minerva, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Aquinas at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
