Recap: Baker Gators vs. Walton Braves
The Baker Gators suffered their biggest loss since November 27, 2023 on Friday. Their rough 50-30 loss to Walton might stick with them for a while. Baker found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Baker still got an impressive performance from Polly Crenshaw, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Leading Walton to victory were Sophia Parker and Maleaha Johnson. Parker scored 16 points, while Johnson scored 22 points along with three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Lassiter, who scored four points along with six assists and five steals.
Baker's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Walton, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baker will take on Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Destin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Walton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marianna at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
