Basketball Recap: Grace Richardson Key Part of a Team Effort in Seahawks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against River Ridge, Peninsula was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Timberline Blazers by a score of 48-38. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Blazers are ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Peninsula to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Richardson, who went 10 of 23 on her way to 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. Richardson has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Maci Miller was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Peninsula smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Peninsula's record now sits at 11-7. As for Timberline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Peninsula will square off against Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Timberline, they will face off against Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Timberline is facing Capital at the right time seeing as Capital is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
