Soccer Recap: Mendota Takes Down Quincy Notre Dame in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Mendota walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Mendota's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Quincy Notre Dame are ranked 207th).

Cesar Casas and Maurcio Salinas scored both of Mendota's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 40 goals.

The win was the fifth in a row for Mendota, bringing their record up to 24-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they moved to 7-16-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.
