Football Recap: Carson Blair Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Las Lomas + How To Watch

Miramonte hadn't done well against Las Lomas recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Matadors narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 25-22. For the Matadors, this counts as revenge for the 23-8 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramonte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Blair, who rushed for six yards and one score, and also threw for 90 yards and one TD on only six passes. The dominant performance also gave Blair a new career-high in passer rating (149.3). Jonah Imberg was another key back, rushing for 61 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.

Miramonte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of George Gilbert and David Roman.

Despite the loss, Las Lomas still got an impressive performance from Kane Sekulich, who rushed for 199 yards and a pair of TDs. Sekulich has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played.

Miramonte now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Las Lomas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Coincidentally, Miramonte and Las Lomas will both be playing Campolindo the next time they take the field. The Knights will host the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Matadors will host them at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
