Softball Recap: Ipswich Comes Up Short

Amesbury hit Ipswich with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers lost 10-4 to the Redhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in April.

Julia Hubbard made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Ipswich and nudges their season record down to 6-11. As for Amesbury, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ipswich will venture away from home to take on Whittier RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amesbury, they will head out to challenge Methuen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
