Basketball Game Preview: Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers vs. Sundance Bulldogs

Having just played yesterday, the Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers will head out on the road to face off against the Sundance Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Lead-Deadwood will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Newcastle, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lead-Deadwood walked away with a 70-59 win over Newcastle on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Golddiggers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Sundance entered their tilt with Belle Fourche on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They enjoyed a cozy 57-43 win over the Broncs.

Sundance's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Lead-Deadwood, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Lead-Deadwood came up short against Sundance when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-52. Can Lead-Deadwood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
