Recap: Bland Tigers vs. Tom Bean Tomcats
The Bland Tigers won the last time they faced the Tom Bean Tomcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Bland managed a 42-38 victory over Tom Bean.
Despite the loss, Tom Bean still got an impressive performance from Allie Hickman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 21 rebounds. The game was Hickman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Lind, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Bland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Tom Bean, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bland will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wolfe City at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Tom Bean, they will head out on the road to face off against Whitewright at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitewright has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-2 during that stretch of close contests.
