League recap: Trinidad breaks off league-leading run for Mitchell

Christian Trinidad of Mitchell ran for the longest rushing play in 6A District 6 this season against Anclote last week. Trinidad scampered for 68 yards on the play and finished with 163 on the day as his team bested the Sharks.

Fans got a thrill when Eric Vitale and Christian Coleman connected against Ridgewood. The connection went for 76 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.

Fivay's dynamic duo of Vitale and Coleman proved tough for the Rams to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Vitale threw for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns and Coleman had 235 yards receiving. Trenton Soto helped Fivay's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 46 yards.

The Falcons' dynamic duo of Vitale and Coleman proved to be unstoppable against Ridgewood, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Coleman was the best receiver in the league this week as Fivay topped Jay Fulmer's team.

Trinidad was the best running back in 6A District 6 this week. Nate Boler also contributed to the rushing game with 21 yards on the ground.

James Pensyl was a passing and rushing force as Land O'Lakes bested River Ridge. He completed 23 passes for 375 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 4 yards. Pensyl's key target this week was Liam Heaney, who caught 7 passes for 138 yards.

Coleman had a great week catching the football as Chris Taylor's team beat the Rams.

Vitale put up the best numbers in passing as the Falcons beat Ridgewood.

6-foot-6 quarterback Pensyl of the Gators is the league leader in passing yards this season with 375. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Coleman. The Fivay star has 4 catches for 235 yards.

Sunlake moved up to 181 from 274 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Seahawks climbed the ranks as a result of topping Pasco 17-6.
