Softball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove fell victim to Northwest Rankin and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Warriors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Oak Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbie Merchant, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Merchant has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Oak Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Northwest Rankin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season.
