Football Recap: Sheffield Takes a Loss

Sheffield fell victim to Germantown and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Red Devils and fell 65-0. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Red Devils are ranked 13th).

Germantown can attribute much of their success to Armon Williams, who rushed for 36 yards and a pair of scores. Another big playmaker for the Red Devils was Larry Johnson, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Sheffield is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Germantown, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Sheffield and Germantown will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Knights are set to take on their familiar foe Bluff City on Friday. Meanwhile, Germantown will square off against rival Whitehaven at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
