            Baseball Recap: Hoehne Farmers vs. Swink Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Hoehne took a ten-run  loss the last time they faced off against Swink, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Farmers skirted past the Lions  6-4. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Farmers as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

 Antonio Cantoria was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out nine over 5.1 innings pitched. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with four  stolen bases and three  runs. He has become a key player for Hoehne: the team is 5-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 0-13 otherwise.
 Cantoria wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Anthony Sandoval, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  RBI. Hoehne is undefeated when  Sandoval posts three or  more  RBI, but 1-14 otherwise. Another  was  Caden Marquez, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  double.
Hoehne's  win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 5-14. As for Swink, their record is now 10-7.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hoehne will  challenge  rival Rye  at 2:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Swink is set to  take on  their familiar foe Las Animas  at 10:00  a.m.  on Friday.
