Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. Westminster Catawba Christian Indians
The Charlotte Christian Knights will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Westminster Catawba Christian Indians at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, it was close, but Charlotte Christian sidestepped Eau Claire for a 55-52 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Charlotte Christian's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 364th in North Carolina, while Eau Claire is ranked 177th in South Carolina).
Charlotte Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Guandolo, who scored 20 points along with five assists. The contest was Guandolo's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marshall Nicholson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Westminster Catawba Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 72-47 margin over Hickory Grove Christian.
Charlotte Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Charlotte Christian skirted past Westminster Catawba Christian 55-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Charlotte Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
