Baseball Recap: Oxnard's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Oxnard not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 22nd. Everything went their way against the Milken Wildcats as Oxnard made off with a 10-2 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Diego Garcia looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only five walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Carlos Rodriguez and Steven Lira did most of the damage at the plate: Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Lira went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Oxnard is 2-1 when Lira posts three or more RBI, but 3-8 otherwise. Gavin Ramos was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Oxnard's record is now 5-9. As for Milken, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

Oxnard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-8 victory against Oak Park on the 28th. As for Milken, they will take on Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
