Preview: Galva Wildcats vs. Knoxville Blue Bullets
Galva is on a four-game streak of home losses, Knoxville a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Galva Wildcats will take on the Knoxville Blue Bullets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-35, which was the final score in Galva's tilt against Mercer County on Friday. Galva has not had much luck with Mercer County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Galva saw an underclassman step up: Blake Stahl scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Stahl is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyrus Lilly, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Knoxville had to suffer through a rough 78-48 loss at the hands of Abingdon/Avon.
Galva has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for Knoxville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-24.
Galva was able to grind out a solid win over Knoxville in their previous meeting last Friday, winning 60-53. Does Galva have another victory up their sleeve, or will Knoxville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
