Baseball Recap: Spring Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Spring dropped their record down to 19-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Aldine Mustangs, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Aldine, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For Aldine's part, the team relied heavily on Gabriel Nunez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Nunez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alberto Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

While Spring had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
