Basketball Recap: South Choctaw Academy Rebels vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats
South Choctaw Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 51-24 loss at the hands of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rebels of the 46-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.
Leading Edgewood Academy to victory were Lexie Smith and Avery White. Smith went 11 for 24 en route to 27 points plus seven steals, while White went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points plus eight steals. White has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.
Edgewood Academy pushed their record up to 3-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
