Football Recap: Manila Comes Up Short

Manila extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They lost 34-8 to the Harrisburg Hornets. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Harrisburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games.

It was another big night for Grayson Harkey, who rushed for 133 yards and one touchdown. Jayvin Thompson also helped with two scores in total.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Manila will venture away from home to challenge Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Greyhounds have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Harrisburg, they will head out to face off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Seminoles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
