Basketball Game Preview: Stewart County Royal Knights vs. Pelham Hornets

Stewart County hasn't had much luck against Pelham recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stewart County Royal Knights are taking a road trip to take on the Pelham Hornets at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row dating back to last season, Stewart County turned things around against Quitman County on Tuesday. They strolled past the Hornets with points to spare, taking the game 49-31. The Royal Knights 's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pelham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 victory over Randolph-Clay on Tuesday.

Pelham pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Stewart County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Stewart County was dealt a bruising 49-16 loss at the hands of Pelham in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Thankfully for Stewart County, Taniyah Johnson (who went 9 for 15 on her way to 22 points and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
