The Erskine Academy Eagles will head out to square off against the Leavitt Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Erskine Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Lincoln Academy hit Erskine Academy with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Erskine Academy took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln Academy. Erskine Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adalyn Glidden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Jilian Desjardins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lillian Clark, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Leavitt faced Buckfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hornets lost 8-2 to the Bucks. The loss was the Hornets' first of the season.

Leavitt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Cyr, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Cyr has launched this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Leavitt fell to 11-1. As for Erskine Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Erskine Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Leavitt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Erskine Academy came up short against Leavitt when the teams last played on May 2nd, falling 11-7. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
