Baseball Recap: La Jolla Country Day Comes Up Short

La Jolla Country Day came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Cathedral Catholic Dons, falling 10-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Torreys, who until this match were averaging 3.9 runs allowed.

La Jolla Country Day got a good showing from Nolan Rosik, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Rosik has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, La Jolla Country Day saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitch Circuit, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

La Jolla Country Day's record is now 18-13. As for Cathedral Catholic, they pushed their record up to 19-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, La Jolla Country Day will head out to face off against Point Loma at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pointers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Torreys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
