Soccer Recap: Jefferson Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

It's playoff time, and Jefferson had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Winterset Huskies a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The game was close at halftime, but Jefferson turned on the heat in the second half with two goals.

They hit Winterset with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ava Rief, Taelin Minor, and Makena Kramer.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 9-4-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six matches. As for Winterset, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14-1 record this season.

Jefferson will head out to square off against Indianola at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winterset does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
