Volleyball Recap: Golden Valley's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Golden Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the El Capitan Gauchos by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gauchos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Golden Valley took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-16, 27-29, 25-20, 15-13.

Richard Saechao paced Golden Valley's offense, picking up 31 kills. Saechao got some help from Marc Her and his 66 assists. Jayden Thao and Chai Her kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Golden Valley's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 19-13. As for El Capitan, they pushed their record up to 25-11 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Golden Valley has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Los Banos on the 3rd. As for El Capitan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Buhach Colony on the 3rd.
