Volleyball Recap: South Newton Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, South Newton rose to the challenge on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Caston Comets. The victory was familiar territory for the Rebels, who have now won six matchups in a row.

Briley Iseminger went supernova, getting 17 digs and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 16 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: South Newton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in six consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Caston saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellie Zartman had 11 digs and four assists.

South Newton's record now sits at 19-10. As for Caston, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-24.

South Newton has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Pioneer on the 18th. Caston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
