Basketball Recap: Powder River County Comes Up Short

Powder River County lost against Melstone back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Powder River County Hawks had to suffer through a 61-16 loss at the hands of the Melstone Broncs. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Broncs are ranked third).

Powder River County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Melstone, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Powder River County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Melstone, they will venture away from home to challenge Broadview/Lavina at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Broadview/Lavina: 28.2, Melstone: 27.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
