Football Recap: St. Brendan Victorious

St. Brendan proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 35) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Dr. Krop Lightning 22-21. The Sabres have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lightning, too.

St. Brendan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nicholas Gobel, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Those 206 passing yards gave Gobel a new career-high. Jakeem Ferguson was Gobel's top target, picking up 96 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

St. Brendan's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Dr. Krop, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

St. Brendan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 35-6 victory against Jackson on the 19th. As for Dr. Krop, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Doral Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
