Football Recap: Wade Reeve and Austin Buescher Secure Win for West Jefferson

West Jefferson lost to West Liberty-Salem back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Roughriders walked away with a 20-7 win over the Tigers.

Leading West Jefferson to victory were Austin Buescher and Wade Reeve. Buescher threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Reeve gained 106 total yards and a touchdown. What's more, Reeve racked up 40 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in August.

West Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jeremy Jester.

West Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for West Liberty-Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Meanwhile, West Liberty-Salem will take on rival Mechanicsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Tigers have won three straight at home, while the Indians won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
