Harrison is 9-1 against McCutcheon since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. The matchup will give Harrison their first taste of in-conference action this season.
On Friday, Harrison got the win against Tri-County by a conclusive 15-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.
Kamryn Popp and Ashley Dunk did most of the damage at the plate: Popp went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Dunk went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Anna Hainje was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
They weren't the only one making solid contact: Harrison kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, McCutcheon strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against Rossville by a score of 6-1.
Molly Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on ten hits.
At the plate, Sydney Osborn was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Wykoff, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
McCutcheon's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Harrison, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Harrison has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like McCutcheon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Harrison beat McCutcheon 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
