Basketball Recap: Mica Mountain Thunderbolts vs. Buena Colts
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salpointe Catholic, Mica Mountain was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Buena Colts, posting a 64-33 victory. Given the Thunderbolts' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Colts are ranked 146th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mica Mountain was led to victory by Kayley Sutton and Isabella Webb. Sutton went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points and three steals, while Webb went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and five boards. That's the most steals Sutton has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amaris Biancuzzo, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
