Flag Football Recap: Escondido Piles Up the Points Against Pacific Ridge

Escondido got themselves on the board against Pacific Ridge on Wednesday, but Pacific Ridge never followed suit. They blew past the Firebirds 28-0. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Abby White was a one-woman wrecking crew as she threw for 255 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, she racked up 129.2 passer rating, the most she's had since back in August. Mia Diaz was White's top target, picking up 100 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 30 yards.

Escondido's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Amelia Gastelum was especially locked on to Pacific Ridge's QB and sacked her twice. Another thorn in the Firebirds' side was Jackie Salgado, who made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Escondido now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Pacific Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Escondido does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pacific Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri-City Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
