Volleyball Game Preview: Lebo Wolves vs. Phillipsburg Panthers

The Lebo Wolves will take on the Phillipsburg Panthers in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Lebo didn't have quite enough to beat Flinthills and fell 2-1.

The 2-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 31-29.

Meanwhile, Phillipsburg unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to Thomas More Prep-Marian. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 5, 2024, but that streak is no more.

While Phillipsburg had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19.

Phillipsburg now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Lebo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14-1.

Lebo was able to grind out a solid win over Phillipsburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
