Softball Game Preview: Medina Valley Panthers vs. Del Rio Rams

The Medina Valley Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Del Rio Rams at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Medina Valley has four straight wins, Del Rio has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Medina Valley walked away with a 7-2 victory over United South.

Alyssa Montez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kynlee Crisp, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Avery Nash also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Del Rio fell victim to United South and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Medina Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Del Rio, their loss dropped their record down to 5-16.

Medina Valley beat Del Rio 11-6 in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Will Medina Valley repeat their success, or does Del Rio have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
