Basketball Game Preview: Martin County West Mavericks vs. Nicollet Raiders

Martin County West has gone 10-0 against Nicollet recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Martin County West Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Nicollet Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Martin County West didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against United South Central, but they still walked away with a 53-49 victory. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Rebels are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Nicollet entered their tilt with Loyola on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Crusaders 58-19. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season.

Martin County West's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Nicollet, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Martin County West didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Nicollet in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win.
