Basketball Recap: Vassar Takes a Loss

Vassar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Unionville-Sebewaing Patriots 57-27. While losing is never fun, the Vulcans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Patriots are ranked 240th).

Vassar got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Jordon Cain and Natalie Hoerlein, who each put up six points. Makenna McCloud took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Vassar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Unionville-Sebewaing, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vassar has already played their next matchup (against Bad Axe), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Unionville-Sebewaing has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Laker.
