Basketball Recap: Blue River Valley Vikings vs. Hagerstown Tigers
Blue River Valley lost against Hagerstown back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Blue River Valley Vikings lost to the Hagerstown Tigers at home by a 72-57 margin.
Landon Lawson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds for Hagerstown. Those 24 points gave Lawson a new career-high. Anthony Kelley was another key player, putting up six points in addition to 11 assists and three steals.
Blue River Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Hagerstown, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-9.
Blue River Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Seton Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue River Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Seton Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Hagerstown, they will head out on the road to square off against Union City at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. Hagerstown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
